About Us
Hi, I’m Charissa, the founder of Mt Gruff. I started this brand in 2014 when I was in my 20's, driven by a love for adventure and quality gear. Now, as a mother of two young children, that same passion continues to fuel my designs, creating chalkbags that balance durability, style, and functionality—just like the climbers who use them.
At Mt Gruff, we’re driven by a love for adventure and a commitment to quality. Founded in 2014 in Prince George, BC, Mt Gruff has grown and evolved alongside my families journey through British Columbia. As we moved across the province, Mt Gruff explored the communities of Nanaimo, Comox Valley, Victoria, Prince George, and Penticton before finally settling in Kitimat, BC. The landscapes, climbing culture, and outdoor experiences in each of these places have helped shape the vision behind our gear.
We specialize in designing and crafting premium chalkbags for climbers and adventurers who demand durability, performance, and style. Proudly made in Canada, our chalkbags are crafted with high-quality materials and practical features like brush holders and pockets for your essentials, ensuring your gear is as functional as it is fashionable.
What sets us apart? We create our chalkbags in small batch runs, so while each batch may feature unique fabrics, zippers, and custom details, we also listen to customer requests. When a fabric is particularly popular or we find the perfect color match, we may restock select designs. This allows us to offer both uniqueness and a personalized touch, while staying committed to our values of creativity, sustainability, and quality.
